When you wake up in the morning, your stomach is flat. You start to wonder if you are pregnant as the days go by. It’s possible that it is not as dramatic. As you eat, your stomach will become bloated.
Once you know the solution, it’s actually very easy.

Remove
Take out the problematic foods. Gluten and cow’s milk are the most common problem foods for us. If I had a penny for every time someone said “I couldn’t do that”, I would be on the beach in Tahiti.
It’s really not that difficult, but you have to know the right way (that’s mine, not yours). The HEAL 30-Day Wellness Challenge includes recipes that are gluten-free and dairy-free. You’ll see that it’s really not difficult if I show you all the recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
However, I would recommend that you remove these two foods from your diet for at least 14 days and ideally 30, if possible. It doesn’t end there…
Replace with:
You should also replace any digestive enzymes and juices that you may have lost. This will help to prevent indigestion, bloating and gas. This is usually hydrochloric (HCl), and digestive enzymes. Ever get heartburn? This is a sign that you need to increase your stomach acid. It may sound counterintuitive but I have written about this here.
I recommend to my clients the St Francis Digestive Bitters and Genestra Bio Enzymes, both of which are available here . Any bitter food will help to stimulate digestion. The HCl produced in the stomach is what begins the digestion of proteins. The digestive process will be slowed down if you don’t have enough stomach acid. Food won’t be digested correctly, causing gas and bloating, as well as irregular bowel movements.
You may also need to supplement digestive enzymes, as they are not released if there is insufficient stomach acids. Note that this is only a short-term solution until the healing process is complete.
3) Reinoculate
The next step is to reinoculate good bacteria within the gut. Probiotics and fermented foods are good options. Genestra HMF intensive without FOS is my recommendation. Include fermentable fibers like those found in root vegetables, onion, and garlic.
4) Repair
You may also need to repair your intestinal tract, depending on the length of time you have been suffering from gut issues. Omega 3 fatty acid, antioxidants (vitamins A, C, E and Zinc) as well as L-Glutamine are the best nutrients to help with this. Carrots, sweet potatoes, and bell peppers provide a good source of vitamin C, E, and A. Pumpkin and sesame seed, Brazil nuts, and sesame and pumpkin seeds are excellent sources of zinc and selenium.
