This is another case study post where I will share with you the exact plan and protocol someone followed to achieve their results.

I want to share how I helped Samantha, a good friend of mine. It’s important to note (and it has nothing to do with today’s blog post) that Sam just launched her podcast Your best Version. This podcast is a refreshing look at self-love, self-care and how to become the best version of you. I highly recommend this – Click here for a listen.
Now, let’s get back to the main topic – inflammation and excess weight. Here is why Sam came and what she was experiencing, as described by her.
Why she came to me:
- Mandy was the first person I went to because I had trouble losing weight.
- When I looked at myself in the mirror, I felt puffy and bloated.
- It made no sense to me because I am extremely healthy and regularly exercise.
- I was confused and frustrated, and desperately wanted someone to show me the way and what was missing.
Her health and the impact of
- Simply put, I did not feel comfortable in my own body.
- I felt like I had eaten too much and my clothes didn’t fit the same way as they used to.
- But I always felt like this, even after sleeping for a whole night!
- I was not confident and frustrated because I could not figure out what my body was doing.
She had already tried:
I tried:
- Add more vegetables to your diet
- Drinking more water
- Working out more
- working out less
- Taking fiber supplements
Mandy was the only option I had left when I asked her for help. I thought she was my only option and was confident that, because of her work with other clients, and the way she treated herself, she could help me. I was right. ).
What we did:
We began by testing her food sensitivities using the IgG Food Sensitivity test. I immediately think of food allergies when someone is puffy or has bloating. Why? Food sensitivities create an immune response, which leads to inflammation. Bloating is an obvious sign of improper digestion.
What’s the deal with IgG food sensitivities?
- Not all testing companies offer the same services. You may have a leaky gut or need to improve your gut health if you’ve had this test in the past.
- IgG food sensitivities can be difficult to diagnose by process of elimination, as symptoms may appear up to 4 days after the food has been consumed. Plus, the symptoms are often quite basic and “common”, such as bloating, nausea, headaches, migraines or fatigue.
Her food sensitivity test results are:

You can see that her main concerns were cow’s milk, eggs, wheat/gluten and walnuts. These are the most common food sensitivities, excluding walnuts. It can be overwhelming to see results like this, because bread, cheese and eggs are all staples of many people’s diets. Sam was lucky because she embraced the idea!
If someone wants to modify their diet, it is important that I provide them with the necessary recipes. Sam was able to access meal plans and recipes which met her new dietary needs. She also had a focus on 30 minute and crockpot meals to save time.
Sam tried to reintroduce these foods after a 3-month break. She felt so bad after reintroducing the foods (digestive problems and a general feeling of ill health) that she was motivated to continue with her new eating habits. It’s much easier to maintain a new eating pattern when you feel better after removing certain foods.
Note that many people can reintroduce the foods after a three-month break and some gut healing. However, everyone is different.
In Her Own Words:
Mandy suggested the food sensitivity test after listening to my concerns and learning what I’d tried in the past to resolve this issue. It was something I had never considered before, and it was a real surprise to find out what I was allergic too! After eliminating the foods that caused me to gain weight, I lost six pounds in less than two months! Half of that time I spent in Mexico on vacation…
Mandy’s comment: “This is amazing, given that she was on vacation and drinking margaritas every day!” It’s not that I would recommend eating tacos and margaritas to lose weight, but you get my point. )
I can confirm that Mandy’s approach is to get to the core of the problem, rather than creating a one-size fits all protocol or putting you on an restrictive diet. Mandy’s ability to customize her approach and provide recommendations based on each client’s lifestyle and unique needs is game-changing. “I am so grateful for Mandy’s help in helping me feel like myself again!”
