It’s #PSL season! It’s been a few years since I posted my Pumpkin Spice Latte, so it’s about time to update!
This recipe comes in two versions: the classic caffeinated espresso version or a decaffeinated chai version. You can also add some extra options to your #PSL.
This is a recipe for:
- gluten free
- Grain free
- Dairy free
- Refined sugar-free (sweetened with Honey)
This recipe is so much better with homemade almond milk! Make your own almond milk:
- Allow 1 cup of almonds to soak in hot water for five minutes.
- Add 1 cup of almonds and 3 cups of water to a high-speed blender after draining and rinsing.
- Additions to the recipe: Vanilla, sea salt, and cinnamon
- Blend for approximately 60 seconds
- Strain using a nut-milk bag

Ingredients:
The decaf version of chai is:
- Use regular chai or decaf tea if you like.
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree (in a can, unsweetened).
- Make your own almond milk with 3/4 cup of almond milk (see above for instructions).
- Make your own pumpkin spice by adding 1 heaping teaspoon of pumpkin spices (see below for instructions).
- 2 tsp raw honey (or maple syrup)
- Drops of Vanilla Extract
Upgrade to:
- 1 TBSP of collagen powder
- Coconut oil 1 TBSP
- Add a dollop coconut whipped cream to the top
Regular espresso:
- Espresso – 1-2 shots
- 1/4 cup of water
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree (in a can, unsweetened).
- Make your own almond milk with 3/4 cup of almond milk (see below for instructions).
- Make your own pumpkin spice by adding 1 heaping teaspoon of pumpkin spices (see below for instructions).
- 2 tsp raw honey (or maple syrup)
- Drops of Vanilla Extract
Upgrade to:
- 1 TBSP of collagen powder
- Coconut oil 1 TBSP
- Add a dollop coconut whipped cream to the top
Directions:
The decaf version of chai is:
- Boil water
- Add 3/4 cup boiling chai water to a mug, and steep it for 5-10 mins.
- Add the rest of the ingredients, except for the honey, to a pot over medium heat.
- While the mixture is heating, use a whisk to combine all ingredients
- Remove the teabag and add the chai to the pot when the chai is ready.
- Place all ingredients, including honey, in the blender. Blend until well mixed.
Regular espresso:
- Take 1-2 shots espresso
- All ingredients except the honey should be placed in a pot. Cook over medium heat.
- While the mixture is heating, use a whisk to combine all ingredients
- Place all ingredients, including honey, in the blender. Blend until well mixed.
